Government Secondary School, Tingley, South Sikkim is established in the year 1955 and managed by the local community until taken over by the Education Department, Government of Sikkim in the year 1960. The school was upgraded to secondary level in the year 2008 and got affiliated to CBSE.
The school is located 30 km away from the South district, headquarter Namchi in the national serene valley of Namthang block. Souly believing in the school motto "knowledge dispels ignorance", the qualified teaching faculties strive to impart quality education. The class are run in the two RCC buildings and one Kutcha building. Besides scholastic activities, co-scholastic activities are also organised between the four houses of the school. At every academic session end, the Best House of the Year and the Best Student of the Year are adjudged on the final Prize distribution. In a nutshell, school is shining to nurture the inter heat through learning by doing.
